Trivia Challenge

Match the Monikers

This is the latest in ATPM’s series of Trivia Challenges. Answers to this month’s Trivia Challenge will be found in the next issue of ATPM. If you have any suggestions for future Trivia Challenges, or would like to contribute a Trivia Challenge, please e-mail me at egoss@atpm.com.

We had no winners in last month’s Trivia Challenge 5.11—The Next Generation. Please try again! This month’s prize is a world-famous ATPM t-shirt! The ultra-cool, 100% cotton t-shirt emblazoned with the ATPM logo on the front and our logo and motto on the back goes to the first two correct entries I receive. Send your answers to egoss@atpm.com. All readers are eligible to win once every 12 months.

This month’s Trivia Challenge is a list of nicknames of famous people—nicknames that are so familiar, we hardly refer to the people by their real names anymore. So see if you can match up the names and nicknames as you take part in:

This Month’s CD Recommendation

Breakfast in New Orleans, Dinner in Timbuktu” by Bruce Cockburn—the amazingly prolific Canadian’s 25th album. In a perfect world, this Bruce would be as popular as that other one. Well-crafted songs, biting lyrics, fabulous musicianship, and Lucinda Williams on backup vocals make this CD a must have on anyone’s list.

Parting Pointer

The “Parting Pointer” is ATPM’s “Tips and Tricks” section. If you have a pointer that you would like to share with other readers to make their Mac experience easier or more enjoyable, please send it to me at egoss@atpm.com. Here’s this month’s “Parting Pointer”:

To make the Apple menu function as a powerful application or file launcher, you can organize its contents to place your most-used items at the top, where they are easily accessible. Since the Apple menu sorts items alphabetically, you can move items around by adding space(s) before the name to bring those items to the top. Simply open the Apple Menu Items folder in your System Folder and find those files or programs that you wish to be at the top. Select the items, highlight their names, and add two blank spaces before each name. Then you can select the items you want in your next tier of programs and add a single space to them to put them in the middle of the pack. Leave the least-used items’ names alone and they will stay sorted at the bottom of the list.
