Sorry, but I don't like any of the pictures. I think you should try to show less butt and more moose, but you're doing great. Keep getting those pictures, but try to get a little more moose.

If you have moose pictures that are better face shots then, by all means, send them to us.
As for this day, it was the first and only time I'd ever seen one. It was not possible to get around in front of him before he trotted away.
Moose are not going to stand there and say, "OK, take a picture of me. Here's my face!" If you want better pictures, try taking them yourself. I personally know what it's like to take moose pictures. I love moose and am always taking pictures of them. I know first hand that it is not always easy to get a good moose picture. Lee, I think you did fine with the pictures you have!

KA - Thanks! You're right, this guy never did turn aroundand he (plus the female that was nearby) is the first and only moose I have ever seen. The guy you see in the background of this shot was one of several who had been wearing those rubber chest-high outfits to keep them dry while wading. They were standing out there in the swamp. After a time, this moose trotted off, as I mentioned above, and he never faced my direction before leaving.
I want to thank you for the great moose pictures. I got the chance to visit Alaska in the winter of 2000 and fell in love with the place, but more so with the moose. I think they are such amazing and beautiful creatures. I saw lots of them on the drive from Anchorage to Homer. I took lots of pictures. I think they are my favorite of all God's creatures. I miss seeing them.
I love the moose pictures. I just came back from the north and I'm doing my room with moose pictures. I came across this site and I love it. Keep up the good work. Thanks so much.

I love moose! I came face to face (about 10 ft. away) from the biggest bull moose you have ever seen, but didn't get a picture because it was threatening to charge.

Since we moved to the beautiful state of Maine in November 2002, we have seen seven moose. They are very impressive-looking animals.

I am a hunter from Ontario. I have many pics of moose. I find them facinating and majestic animals. moose are very hard to photograph. you usually get no more than a second or two to even be able to take a shot at one, let alone take its picture. I think you are very lucky to have a big bull like that one to stand still for as long as he did for you. sometimes you get really lucky. congradulations on this picture. keep it up.
i love moose so much i think there miss understood gorgeous handsome beasts and so monsteous and muscular.i love them so much i cant put it into words no doubt about i want a career with moose. Its annoying how theres no moose in new zealand but they were introduced in fiordland but they were hunted off.
I have a really good picture of a wild moose taken from about 20 feet away from me! He's a younger moose, and his antlers were just starting to grow for this season. He knew I was there, and allowed me to take several pictures of him over the course of about 15 minutes. He didn't seem to mind me at all. :) How can I send you some pictures of my moose?
Sonia - if it's only one, we probably don't have much use for it. ATPM publishes sets of photos in a month's issue for desktop wallpaper images. If you have a collection of photos that fall within a topic, you can contact [email protected] to submit them for a future issue.
Good pic. Never pass a moose in a car. They will walk out in front of the car and smash it. I was reffing a soccer game and the moose just walked right across the feild. Thank gosh we were at half time no one was on the feild. There hard to get pics of. AWESOME!!!! Maine New Hampshier and Vermont are loaded with them.

Moose are one of my favorite animals because they are just cool. I want to have an animal ranch with just moose, that would be cool. Thats all for now and that is a nice picture of a moose.
I absolutely love this picture. I can't imagine how you could get up that close to a moose and not get scared of being hurt. I would sure love to get that close to one. I would love to touch one because they are so beautiful.
On Fri 9/14/07 my husband and I found a marsh out in the middle of nowhere in Pittsburgh, NH. A cow and bull saw us first and sauntered towards the woods, but hesitated long enough for us to get a good view with our binoculars. We then saw a cow way out in a field next to the marsh. I don't know how to make a long story short...So... I stayed still and watched her grazing and my husband wandered off. Within 20 minutes she slowly grazed her way towards me, turned perpendicular to me while feeding in the water, then headed towards where the other 2 went into the woods. I was watching her the whole time with binoculars so was psyched when she turned and headed slowly towards me. I didn't realize how close she was until all I saw was her nostrils in the binoculars. I slowly peeked above them and there she was only 15 feet away. Keep in mind that even though they may move slow they cover a lot of distance quickly. She stopped and kept looking at me. She took a step forward then she heard my husband in the distance and she stopped. He quickly realized what was going on and stopped and froze. She decided she didn't want to stick around and very slowly ambled towards the woods and kept looking back at me before diappearing into the thick underbrush. Luckily he got a picture, but it's quite distant. I really think she was going to either sniff me or nibble my arm. It is not good to get close to moose, but because she came to me and I didn't creep up on her my intuition is that she was just curious. If she had calves or if it was during rut and it was a bull, I would have backed off quickly. I believe she was a yearling. All I can say is that it was very surreal. I was nervous, yet calm all at the same time. We shared a special moment!
